In the end, I had a telephone consult where the PA told me if it got worse to go to the ER. Then, she couldn't get a hold of a doctor to examine me. When she realized what happened, she couldn't find heat compresses at first as the room was not stocked with them. The tech did not realize at first as she kept telling me to bring my arm down but I couldn't move it. During the exam when the iodine was released, it caused an infiltration event. I've had MRIs with contrast and CTs done throughout my life and never had this problem. Then in prep for the exam, the tech could not get the catheter in either arm and had collapsed the veins so that someone else had to be brought in to do it. No one ever asked my pulse history or if I was on asthma meds. My pulse which runs low because I've been athletic/active all my life was within the acceptable range without the beta blockers.

This protocol is cookie cutter and doesn't take into account the individual's situation. I tried to call the morning of my appointment for guidance but the cardiac team was unavailable as it is located in Arizona (2 hour time difference from Tampa).Īdditionally, I showed up a little early to take the pill on site but was told it would take an hour to be effective although medical journals states it will become effective in 30 min and peak in 90. Additionally, I was on asthma medication which scientific research published in medical journals states should only be given under supervision. I only wanted to do the CTA portion of my script and not the calcium scoring, as my insurance didn't cover the latter, but the office made me get a new script.Īdditionally, they told me I had to take beta blockers and the protocol was for 3 which is way more than other reputable imaging centers in Tampa. My first appointment I had to reschedule. I wouldn't even leave a star but in order to post I had to. I will never have any testing done with SimonMed ever again, very disappointed. They just sent a letter stating that the 10$(s/a) a month is not enough. I am on a fixed income and am only able to pay 10$ a month and have been since November 2022. Had I been made aware at the time that it would cost that much, I would of never of scheduled the testing. However she was able to give me a cash pay discount of 70% off, making the bill 212$(s/a). How is it costing me eight times what it costed me six months ago? I then spoke with a representative, she was not able to tell me why it was costing so much when i only had the ultrasound with no mammogram. When I called the automated voice states the accounts remaining balance was 709.44$(s/a), I was shocked. I did so in September 2022, per SimonMed I was only needing the ultrasound on both breasts. I was charged 95$ (s/a) in office, and was told to follow up in six months. I had a mammogram and ultrasound done on both breasts in February 2022. I am a cash pay patient and they knew at both appointments. which is too bad, as the actual service for the procedure was quite good. Would seem like the CEO and Executive Team are not paying attention to the billing department at all. The number of complaints about this company are through the roof.

Before doing business with them check YELP in your local area or the Better Business Bureau. I am at the point now where I don't care about the money and just really annoyed with how they operate. Each call lasts anywhere between 15 minutes and 1 hour each time. I have now made 8 calls to resolve a $200 billing issue. When you do, the issue still isn't resolved. The people that answer the phone "attempt" to be helpful, but nothing is resolved in real time.

You need to review EVERY single detail - and if you have a mistake on your bill, it will take months to resolve. While the service in the San Francisco Office was very good, the billing practices of this company are unethical and possibly illegal.
